Kevin A. Sweet, MS, MPA, ICMA-CM
On February 14, 2018, Kevin Sweet began his tenure as Town Administrator for the Town of Wrentham.
As the Chief Administrative Officer, Kevin oversees all administrative functions of the town and manages the day-to-day activities of the organization. He has worked closely with the Board of Selectmen to achieve its goals in the areas of leadership, communication, finance, economic development, and community infrastructure. Kevin’s fiscally-minded leadership has resulted in a balanced budget, stable economic outlook and an eye toward creative problem-solving. His goal working with the finance team has been the establishment of a sustainable, financial picture for the Town, which includes ongoing analysis of expenditures and revenue. He takes great pride in his managerial abilities to consistently meet deadlines, develop strategic plans, garner relationships with constituents and provide solutions for challenges facing the community as it embarks on current and future initiatives.
Kevin has over fifteen years’ experience working in local government and joined Wrentham after serving nine years with the Town of Maynard as Town Administrator and Assistant Town Administrator. He started his municipal career with the City of Taunton, serving as Assistant Executive Director of Public Health. He has served in various management capacities as a local government leader and consultant in diverse communities of various size. He has held Adjunct Faculty and Guest Lecturer positions in graduate level management programs at various institutions.
Kevin is an active member of several professional associations and serves on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association and the Graduate Education Advisory Board of the International City/County Management Association. He is a Governor appointed Commissioner of the 495/MetroWest Suburban Edge Community Commission and the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Municipal Association.
Kevin is an ICMA-Credentialed Manager and earned a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Financial Management from Norwich University, a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. In addition, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Leadership and Management from Suffolk University’s Moakley Center for Public Management and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health Preparedness from Penn State University College of Medicine.
Kevin has been a life-long resident of Massachusetts and resides in Franklin with his wife Bridget and four sons; Timothy, Devin, Cameron and Dillon.
